Surviving a Social Media Hack: Tips for Criminal Justice Agencies

This webinar will provide those answers from someone whose agency experienced a large-scale, international hack of their Facebook page. You’ll learn about prevention strategies, key contacts at social media platforms, informing your followers, recovery plans and more.

Speaker and Presenter Information

Sarah Boyd is public relations manager for the Clay County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office. She previously worked at the Kansas City Missouri Police Department, where she created and managed the department’s internationally recognized social media platforms, along with a number of other public and media relations duties. She has presented about social media and public relations topics at numerous international and regional conferences, and was named an International Association of Chiefs of Police 40 Under 40 in 2019. She has provided consulting services and expertise to numerous Midwestern law enforcement agencies on implementing an effective social media presence. A former newspaper reporter, Boyd has a degree in communication: journalism from Truman State University.
