Cyber Community Day

The need for an understanding of the cyber and communications challenges faced today at the community level is ever increasing. As a nation we must remain focused and vigilant on the global perspective of these challenges while at the regional level we need to focus our support toward community efforts that address the issues.

Our new Community Cyber Day event is envisioned to be a focal point that brings together academia, government, and industry on regional policy, technology initiatives, and command and control while honing an approach to what we can do locally to meet the challenges of cyber communications so we can successfully operate in the modern digital environment.

Presented by AFCEA Rockbridge Shenandoah, the theme of this year’s event is “Community-Cyber-Communications”. Cyber Education and Cybersecurity are our topics during the morning sessions before a hosted speaker luncheon at the hotel. After lunch, we'll reconvene across from the hotel at Cottage Hill for our Technology Showcase with static displays and demonstrations of local applications for communications, aerial and aquatic drones and autonomous driven vehicle exhibits. Please join us for this first Community Cyber Day, and engage in the discussions and networking with members of the U.S. Cyber Command, DHS CISA, Commonwealth of Virginia IT Agency (VITA), and other industry and academia partners as we discuss how we are part of the solution regionally.
