Geodata & GIS Workshop

This event qualifies for 4 CPEs

Agencies are continually reliant on geodata as a key component in delivering successful citizen services, both to meet their own mission critical work but also in maintaining the ability to share geographic information across agencies. As data teams are tasked with collecting and storing more information than ever before, the accurate and timely collection remains a priority. With more Geographic Information Systems (GIS) readily available as a tool to manage, analyze and map this data, leaders are better prepared than ever before to translate the data from simply storage to real time decisions and action, better informing their work.

During this workshop, government and industry leaders will guide the audience through practical steps in bolstering their work with GeoData and GIS, leveraging leadership support, and the key considerations being made for future improvements.

Attendees will come away from this workshop with a better understanding of:

  • Policy frameworks in place: In this session, we will discuss the policy frameworks in place for GeoData and GIS.

  • The growing use of GeoData as a tool for government agencies: GIS has become an essential tool for storing and analyzing data. In this session, we will explore the growing use of GeoData for government agencies.

  • Sharing of information across agencies: In this session, we will discuss why sharing information across agencies is essential for cybersecurity across the nation.

  • The benefits of geographic information systems (GIS): GIS is used by organizations of all sizes in varying industries. In this session, we will discuss the benefits of using GIS.
