Climate Change Summit 2023

This event qualifies for 3 CLPs

DESCRIPTION:

Climate change is a local, national and global challenge. It affects our health and well-being, our critical infrastructure, and our future generations. The World Health Organization has underscored that climate change is the single biggest health threat facing humanity, affecting social and environmental determinants of health, to include clean air, safe drinking water, sufficient food, and secure shelter.

Climate change adaptation efforts must be prioritized by both the public and private sectors, especially when climate change impacts vulnerable populations with few resources to cope with climate hazards. In addition, managing the climate crisis requires significant financial investments by governments and businesses. Many planned climate solutions can deliver economic benefits while improving our lives and protecting the environment.

This Summit will spotlight the Administration's coordination efforts to improve, preserve, and protect America’s public health and environment and address policies, programs, and partnerships to advance sustainability and climate resilient operations.

Embracing the principles of Open Government (Transparency, Collaboration, and Participation), ACT-IAC’s Climate Change Working Group is working in tandem with the Summit to develop projects to fertilize ideas, integrate recommendations, and seize the opportunity that tacking climate change presents.
