Startup Weekend DCGOV

Startup Weekend is testing whether its model of promoting innovation & entrepreneurship can be applied to the e-GOV / Civic Engagement vertical. We're holding our second-ever weekend-long workshop at Microsoft Friendship Heights on June 15th-17th. There will be some world-class mentors, judges, and speakers as well as real-life problems facing local and federal agencies that need to be solved. The organizers hope to see high-impact, sustainable product companies take start at the event. The winning team will earn a spot in the finalist round of Code For America's Civic Accelerator -- where fully-formed startups will work with folks like Ron Conway, DJ Patil, and Jeff Clavier. 

 

Come work with other designers, developers, business and subject matter experts to improve government and governance. 

 

For those unfamiliar, Startup Weekend is a Seattle-based organization that facilitates events in 90+ countries where designers, developers, business folks, and subject matter experts come together to ideate, validate, build, and launch product startups.
