2010 Five Star Government Forum

There’s still a tough road ahead when it comes to abating the nation’s foreclosure crisis. Government officials and regulators, along with lenders, servicers, and their service providers must work together to bring about economic recovery and stability in the housing market. The hard, but necessary, conversation that needs to be addressed: What are the challenges that are keeping servicers from modifying loans under HAMP? Is the program working? And if not, how can it be modified to mitigate foreclosure for responsible American homeowners facing severe financial pressure and the possibility of losing their homes?

Capitalizing on the success of the annual Five Star Default Servicing Conference and Expo, the largest conference in default servicing  and mortgage banking, the Five Star Government Forum was created to provide lenders and servicers, as well as government officials, the opportunity to identify the policy challenges—and opportunities—more quickly and on an ongoing basis.

The Five Star Government Forum, to be held a few blocks from our Washington Bureau at The Newseum, will address key issues facing the administration and servicing community, such as:

  • Regulatory reform in the financial services industry
  • Is HAMP working? And if not, how can it be modified to ensure that servicers will reach the Obama administration's conversation expectations?
  • Soaring unemployment and its effect on foreclosure rates
  • The micro and macro impact of high foreclosure numbers on communities
  • How to produce lower rates of recidivism and redefaults

What You Will Take Away

Serving as an intermediary for this exclusive audience and with a vested interest from lenders and servicers, the Five Star Government Forum will create a clear line of communication that is unmatched and currently unseen. Lenders and servicers, and specially-invited service providers, choosing to attend this event will accept the responsibility at hand and engage with fellow leaders, colleagues, strategic partners, and key officials. Learn how you can meet the market’s new demands, drive innovation, and create mission-critical solutions.
