Triangle InfoSeCon 2023

Triangle InfoSeCon is the largest annual Information Security conference in the area and is the flagship event of the Raleigh Chapter of the Information System Security Association. Our mission is simple, we want to train and educate as many people as possible about the importance of Information Security. To accomplish that mission we hold training events during our monthly meetings and we have our annual CISSP Review. In addition, we support the Cyber Patriot program that is geared toward getting high school students interested and involved in Information Security. Lastly, we provide scholarships to local schools in support of Information Security curriculums. As an organization, we believe that Information Security is both the present and the future, and it is incumbent upon us to try to influence the decision makers of today and to train the security leaders of tomorrow. This event is our premier showcase of that mission and directly funds our efforts throughout the year.

Speaker and Presenter Information

Brian Haugli, Founder and CEO of SideChannel

Prior to creating SideChannel, Brian led security programs for the Department of Defense, the Pentagon, the US Intelligence Community, Fortune 500 companies, and many others.

He brings over two decades of experience to SideChannel. Brian founded SideChannel with the knowledge he earned as a practitioner addressing information security and data protection issues, in a way that was realistic and manageable.

Brian is a renowned speaker and expert on NIST guidance, threat intelligence implementations, and strategic organizational initiatives.

Brian is the contributing author for the latest book from Wiley, “Cybersecurity Risk Management: Mastering the Fundamentals Using the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.” Lastly, he is a professor at Boston College, in the Woods College of Advancing Studies, Master’s Program in Cybersecurity.

He lives in Massachusetts with his family. When he’s not lecturing or in the office, you can find him coaching youth sports, hiking or cycling.

Felix P. Nater, CSC, President and Owner of Nater Associates, Ltd. a human resource security management consulting practice focusing on workplace violence prevention consulting, workplace security consulting and security awareness. He mentors manufacturing, processing, production and utility firm leaders and trains workforces on how best to mitigate the threat of workplace violence through high-level advice, assistance in the development of multiple intervention strategies and of policy, plans, and training solutions.

Mr. Nater is a nationally recognized highly skilled Workplace Violence Prevention Advisor & Consultant retired from federal law enforcement with 3 decades of federal law enforcement, investigative, program management and security experiences as a United States Postal Inspector, Special Investigator and Postal Police Officer and security management consultant.
