A Look at Evolving Insider Risk Programs

Insider Risk Programs have continued to evolve naturally over the past 20 years. They have grown exponentially beyond the traditional lens of trying to identify spies through cyber-focused data exfiltration events.

Today, Insider Risk Programs have expanded to include internal HR, legal, and compliance stakeholders within organizations and have expanded security beyond strictly physical and cyber domains to now include analysts, investigators, data scientists and behavioral experts. Data scientists and behavioral experts play a key role in identifying trends, anomalies, and outliers based on the data and patterns analyzed. Understanding the risk associated with actual behaviors of personnel is becoming more important and prominent every day. Shifting from a reactive to a proactive culture enables organizations to move left of the threat, a goal for many programs. This includes adopting new technologies, processes, and procedures, bringing in more stakeholders, and tackling more problem sets to include harm to self-and/or others and enhancing Employment Assistance Programs. Organizational programs may also find that changing the sole purpose of user activity monitoring from finding bad actors to one that includes creating a safe and stable work environment is a logical step towards maturity.

In this webinar, we will talk with experts who have guided these changes and who are still seeking to drive change across the insider risk mission space.
