Perspectives on the DHS Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Protection Rule

Please join us to discuss emerging issues involving government contracting and protecting sensitive information. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a final rule that was effective on July 21, 2023 amending its acquisition supplement to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and adding or updating a total of 3 contract clauses to enhance rules for safeguarding of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) on DHS contracts.  The new clauses are designed to improve privacy and cybersecurity measures to better protect CUI.  The new rule is in furtherance of government-wide standards previously issued by the National Archives and Records Administration and the DHS rule was published in advance of expected new FAR rules for protecting CUI.  Please join our expert panel to discuss the implications of the new DHS rule for contractors doing business with DHS as well as the rule's government-wide implications.
