Does your organization have a plan for an active shooter event or hostage taking?  Given today’s ever-changing threat environment, preparing for and training employees to cope with workplace violence should be a key piece of an organization’s incident response planning.

The National Protection and Programs Directorate Office of Infrastructure Protection within the U.S Department of Homeland Security is hosting a facilitated discussion to enhance your response to, and awareness of what to do during an active shooter event:

The event will describe how to incorporate key elements of successful incident management into planning efforts, including:

  • Communicating with and accounting for employees;
  • Building familiarity with local responders and knowing their capabilities;
  • Coordinating with first responders before, during, and after an incident;
  • Integrating public affairs into incident management.

Who Should Participate?

  • Corporate and facility security professionals from the private and public sectors
  • Supervisory first responders
  • Homeland security representatives
