How Mobile County, Alabama, Implemented a Modern HR and Payroll System

IT and HR leaders in Mobile County, Alabama recognized their legacy human resources and payroll processes were no longer efficient, and it was time to migrate to an improved system. After evaluating several options, Mobile County chose to move to Workday, a modern human capital management (HCM) system. But there was a problem – the County’s IT team didn’t have the necessary knowledge or experience to support the new tech deployment, and with a small team, individual IT employees couldn’t be dedicated to the project. To remedy this, the County contracted with its preferred technology partner, Alight, to effectively deploy Workday and manage their ongoing maintenance, allowing them to enhance their system with expert support.

Join leaders from Mobile County and Alight to explore the County’s adoption process, the benefits they experienced working with a technology partner like Alight for support and what other agencies can do to replicate Mobile’s success.

You’ll Learn:

  • The driving factors for Mobile County’s move to a modern HCM system and the benefits they’ve experienced since making the switch
  • How to bridge the skills and expertise gap when migrating from a legacy system to a modern platform
  • Insights and tips for agencies on migrating to and maintaining new tech
