Air Warfare Symposium



The Air Force Association’s 26th Annual Air Warfare Symposium and Technology Exposition will take place February 18-19, 2010 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando, Florida. Invited speakers to the Symposium include Secretary of the Air Force Michael B. Donley, Chief of Staff of the Air Force General Norton A. Schwartz, Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force James A. Roy and other top Air Force leaders.

In support of the Air Warfare Symposium and Technology Exposition, AFA’s Central Florida Chapter will again sponsor its annual Air Force Gala and Golf activities.

The golf outing will be held at the Walt Disney World's Magnolia and Palm Courses on Wednesday, February 17, 2010. Individual golfer price, which includes a reception, is $110 for Military and $200 for Members/Non-Members. Additional reception tickets are available for $60. The Honorable Michael B. Donley Secretary of the Air Force THE HONORABLE MICHAEL B. DONLEY has served as Secretary of the Air Force since October 2008. A University of Southern Mr. Michael B. Donley is the Secretary of the Air Force, Washington, D.C. He is the 22nd Secretary and was confirmed Oct. 2, 2008. He is responsible for the affairs of the Department of the Air Force, including the organizing, training, equipping and providing for the welfare of its more than 334,000 men and women on active duty, 176,000 members of the Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserve, 170,000 civilians, and their families. He also oversees the Air Force's annual budget of more than $110 billion. Mr. Donley has 30 years of experience in the national security community, including service in the Senate, White House and the Pentagon. Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Donley served as the Director of Administration and Management in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He oversaw organizational and management planning for the Department of Defense and all administration, facility, information technology and security matters for the Pentagon. Return to the top General Norton A. Schwartz Air Force Chief of Staff GEN. NORTON A. SCHWARTZ became the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force in August 2008. The U.S. Air Force Academy and National War College graduate is a command pilot with more than 4,400 flying hours in a variety of aircraft. His career has included commands of the Alaskan North American Aerospace Defense Command Region and 11th Air Force, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska and U.S. Transportation Command, Scott AFB, Ill. Return to the top General C. Robert Kehler Commander, Air Force Space Command GEN. C. ROBERT KEHLER is commander Air Force Space Command. He is responsible for the development, acquisition and operation of the Air Force's space and missile systems. The general oversees a global network of satellite command and control, communications, missile warning and launch facilities, and ensures the combat readiness of America's intercontinental ballistic missile force. Renuart Jr. Commander, North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command The general entered the Air Force in 1971 following graduation from Indiana University. He was commissioned through the Officer Training School in 1972. He has commanded a NATO support group and two fighter wings. He served as Commander of the 76th Fighter Squadron during operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and supported Operation Deny Flight as Director of Plans for the NATO Combined Air Operations Center at Headquarters 5th Allied Tactical Air Force. In addition, he commanded Joint Task Force-Southwest Asia and 9th Air and Space Expeditionary Task Force-Southwest Asia, responsible for control of Operation Southern Watch. The general has served as the U.S. Central Command Director of Operations, wherein he oversaw the planning and execution of all joint and allied combat, humanitarian assistance and reconstruction operations for operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He also served as Vice Commander, Pacific Air Forces, where he was responsible for Air Force and Air Component Command activities for the Commander, U.S. Pacific Command. The general has flown combat missions in operations Desert Storm, Deny Flight, Northern Watch and Southern Watch. Return to the top General Donald J. Hoffman Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio Gen. Donald J. Hoffman serves as Commander, Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The command's 75,000 people manage $59 billion annually in research, development, test and evaluation while providing the acquisition management services and logistics support required to develop, procure and sustain Air Force weapon systems. General Hoffman is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. He was commissioned in 1974 and has served in various operational and staff assignments in Europe, the Middle East and United States. He has commanded at the flight, squadron, group and wing levels, and has served on the staffs of U.S. Central Command, U.S. European Command, Air Education and Training Command, Air Combat Command and Headquarters U.S. Air Force. General Hoffman is a command pilot with more than 3,400 flying hours in fighter, trainer and transport aircraft. General Douglas M. Fraser Gen. Douglas M. Fraser is Commander, U.S. Southern Command, Miami, Fla. USSOUTHCOM is responsible for all Department of Defense security cooperation in the 45 nations and territories of Central and South America and the Caribbean Sea, an area of 16 million square miles.
