The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is an executive agency and directly reports to the Governor. FDOT’s continuing mission is to provide a safe transportation system that ensures the mobility of people and goods, enhances economic prosperity, and preserves the quality of Florida’s environment and communities. This mission is accomplished through planning and development of Florida’s robust transportation system to move people and goods through multiple modes including highways/streets, air, rail, sea, spaceports, transit, and ever-expanding deployment of bicycle and pedestrian facilities. FDOT is the second largest department with a FY 2024 budget of over $15 billion.

The Florida Gaming Control Commission is a five-member regulatory body that is responsible for exercising all regulatory and executive powers of the state with respect to gambling, including pari-mutuel wagering, cardrooms, slot machine facilities, oversight of gaming compacts, and other forms of gambling authorized by the State Constitution or law, excluding the state lottery.
