Fleet Forward: The Tour 2024 - Complementary registration for qualifying fleets*


Fleet Forward: The Tour is a one-day, regional event where fleet operators can drive EVs, experience other new technologies behind the wheel, network with peers, and take in educational sessions. Each location has exclusive access to new fleet technologies in a hands-on Ride and Drive. The day also includes seminars, luncheon, and networking opportunities.

 

The Port of Los Angeles, CA event will be held in conjunction with NAFA-The Fleet Management Association. The educational sessions will have a special focus on the Advanced Clean Fleets regulation instituted by the California Air Resources Board (CARB).

 

Topics include:

  • Understanding ACF compliance paths for public and private fleets
  • How to get the full amount of HVIP and other rebates and incentives
  • Insights into power needs for your EV depot
  • Creative solutions to build and finance infrastructure and EVSE
  • NAFA fleet manager’s roundtable

To qualify for a Fleet Full Conference Pass, you must be directly employed by the company or agency that operates a commercial, government or rental fleet. Suppliers or vendors to fleets and employees of fleet leasing and management companies, sales reps and individuals providing support services to a company or agency that owns or operates a commercial fleet or any other suppliers or vendors to flees do not qualify for a Fleet Full Conference Pass and must purchase a sponsorship. Bill Schankel, CAE
CEO | NAFA


Bill Schankel, CAE, serves as the Chief Executive Officer for NAFA Fleet Management Association, the world’s largest membership association for individuals who manage the vehicular fleet and mobility responsibilities for their employers. Schankel joined the organization in September 2017 as NAFA’s Chief of Staff & Operations and served as NAFA’s Interim CEO from August 2019 through April 2020.

 

Prior to joining NAFA, Schankel spent the span of his career in roles leading associations, including serving as Executive Director for the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) and America Mosquito Control Association (AMCA). Previously, Schankel has been responsible for strategic direction, operations, event management, and income development for associations including the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers, New Jersey State Bar Association, and National Kitchen & Bath Association.

 

Eric Winterset
Fleet Services Manager (Interim) | City of Long Beach


Eric Winterset has worked in Fleet Management for 25 years. He is currently the Interim Fleet Services Manager for the City of Long Beach Fleet Services where he oversees five divisions (Fleet Maintenance, Acquisitions, Finance, Fuel & Facilities, and Towing Services. Eric previously worked for Ryder Transportation for 11 years and Golden Empire Transit for 6 years. He earned his B.A. in Business Administration in 2009 from University of Phoenix and sits on advisory boards for Long Beach City Automotive Program and Universal Technical Institute. Eric is a member of both NAFA and MEMA organizations.

 

Rick Azer
Association Vice President, Clean Transportation Growth Lead | Black & Veatch


Rick Azer is Associate Vice President for Black & Veatch and is the Solution Growth Lead for Clean Transportation. He is responsible for company strategy across commercial, utility and government client segments to extend Black & Veatch’s position as a leader in development and deployment of clean transportation infrastructure and distributed energy resources. Rick brings a global engineering and construction perspective to his work at Black & Veatch, where he was a founder in their Growth Accelerator – a team that champions cultural innovation and technological disruption throughout the company and industry. He has served as the Chair of Cleantech San Diego, supporting organization’s members and leadership on a mission to position the greater San Diego region as a global leader in the cleantech and smart cities economy. Prior to joining Black & Veatch, Rick worked for a number of years at Qualcomm managing teams implementing next generation wireless projects around the globe. Rick has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from ASU, a Master of Architecture and a MBA from Washington University, Saint Louis.

 

Lisa McGhee
ZEV Programs & Affairs Manager | Tom's Truck Center


Lisa McGhee, ZEV Programs and Affairs Manager, Tom’s Truck Center, a MHD Commercial Dealership selling ICE and ZEVs by Isuzu, Ford, Hino, Caterpillar, Nikola, GreenPower Motor Company, REE, Allison, UD Trucks. Lisa is responsible for new ZEV business opportunities, expanding the ZEV technology programs, educational tools, and advocate for ZEV policies & affairs. In addition to holding Class A and B commercial licenses, Lisa serves on the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Truck Regulation Implementation Group (TRIG) and Infrastructure Committee.

 

Maria Neve

David Renschler

Public Works Fleet Division Manager | City of Fairfield CA


David Renschler is the Public Works Fleet Division Manager for the City of Fairfield and has over 25 years of experience in the fleet industry with most of the time spent in Government service. He is currently responsible for keeping approximately 700 units in the City's fleet safe, serviceable, and on the road. David is currently the Vice Chairman for the Municipal Equipment Managers Association (MEMA NOR CAL). David holds over 20 ASE's and has gained the APWA's Certified Public Fleet Professional (CPFP) designation. The City of Fairfield has also been in the top 100 Government Fleets for twelve years, the APWA Leading Fleets for two years, and received the East Bay Clean Cities Coalition "Clean Air Champion" Award. David has also received the APWA Fleet Manager of the year award for Northern California, SolanoTransportation Authority (STA) Transit Employee of the Year award as well as numerous other local and regional awards for his service in public fleet management.
