2013 Defense Industry Security Symposium

We sincerely regret to inform you that due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be able to hold the planned Defense Industry Security Symposium that was scheduled at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis between September 14, 2013 and September 22, 2013. As a result of Federal budgetary uncertainties, on January 10, 2013, Department of Defense (DoD) directed all DoD agencies, including our customer, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), to take budgetary reduction actions, including cancellation of travel, training and conferences.

We appreciate your interest in this event, and look forward to hosting this event in the future if and when the Federal budgetary landscape changes.

DARPA, CSSWG, and DoD SAPCO are jointly hosting the 2013 Defense Industry Security Symposium in Atlanta, GA on Sept. 16 through 20, 2013. Following up on the success of the 2011 event, DARPA, CSSWG, and DoD SAPCO will once again collaborate in this noteworthy event fostering the theme of “Success Through Partnership.” This event will bring together peers from all three organizations to share valuable information of interest and applicability across the DoD government and industry security community.

A comprehensive suite of DARPA provided training sessions will be provided all day Monday, 16 Sept. and SPēD testing will be offered throughout the week. The CSSWG will hold it’s annual member meeting on Tuesday morning with all attendees invited to participate. The formal symposium will commence on Tuesday afternoon with addresses by noted senior leaders from DoD and industry, followed by an evening manager’s appreciation reception provided by the Marriott Marquis for all attendees staying at the Marriott. The  symposium will continue Wednesday and Thursday with a variety of speakers, workshops, seminars, threat briefings, vendor hall, and hands‐on demonstrations of the latest automated information system security tools, providing valuable information for CPSOs, FSOs, IA professionals, and security leaders. The event will conclude Friday with a variety of training courses provided by the CDSE, DAU, IOSS, and others as appropriate.
