GCN Tech Essentials: Optimizing Operations with Secure Cloud Computing

Free Cloud First Seminar

Since February 2011, the Federal Government has been working to move beyond computing strategies that led to complex, expensive, and often under-utilized systems. One specific initiative has been the consideration and adoption of a “Cloud First” policy whereby agencies will consider hosted computing options before making new IT investments. To enable this migration, given the concerns about secure cloud-based computing options, the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) has been established as a government-wide resource to provide “a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services.”

Plan to attend this focused discussion about how FedRAMP is supporting Federal agencies as they engage cloud computing alternatives, who is authorized as a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) and the role of accredited Third Party Assessors (3PAO) to validate that CSPs meet necessary FedRAMP standards.
