Impact of Export Controls on Higher Education and Scientific Institutions



What will be the impact of the Export Control Reform Initiative and deemed exports as it relates to the operations of universities and scientific institutions ? This conference will bring together participants involved in reseach administration, legal,contracts, human resources  and sponsored programs in the academic and scientific sectors. It will allow for participants to address concerns to speakers from the U.S. Dept. of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Defense, the National Institute of Heath and other federal agencies involved in contractual work with universities. Topics include the role of fundamental research, emerging technology, export controls and federal contracts,biological and chemical exports, export controls relating to overseas campuses, the deemed export license application process and establishing an export compliance program on campus.
