E-Signatures 101: Best Practices for Adopting Digital Signatures in Higher Ed

In recent years, increased cloud adoption and working-from-home has drastically changed the way in which educational institutes operate.  As a result, Colleges and Universities across the US are speedily working towards digitizing their documents and records management systems. Irrespective of their progress, the goal is the same: to transition from paper to complete electronic data management.

Every institution has a myriad of documents that need to be signed: from capturing students’ or parents’ consents to council decisions, procurement contracts, hiring contracts, student dormitory leases, and real estate management.  In addition, some documents issued by the institution – such as electronic report cards and diplomas – also need to be tamper proof to avoid forgery.
