ARMY AVIATION ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA (AAAA) 2010 ANNUAL CONVENTION

Executive Director’s Message

Welcome back to Fort Worth, TX, the city of Cowboys and Culture.

It has been a few years since we have been back to Fort Worth but we are certainly no strangers. We first brought the AAAA Annual Convention to Fort Worth in 1987 and there have been substantial changes since then. We won’t even mention the tornado that went through downtown the night before we opened and almost shut us down.

The Convention Center was completely re-done and expanded five years ago. A brand new Omni has opened across the street where there was a parking lot and the old Ramada was completely gutted, turned into a full service Sheraton and features a spa and a Don Schula Steakhouse on the same end of the Center as the Omni.

Because we have grown so much over the last five years, we are now in every downtown hotel, 18 in fact, and have contingencies for additional overflow properties.

Because of the number of hotels involved, we are using PASSKEY as the coordinating hotel reservation service. You will see a tab on the AAAA website starting Monday 4 January 2010 that will take you directly into their system. You may also call them at (877) 278-2939 at that time.

Event Registration and tickets will also be available on January 4, again via the quad- a.org website. You may also call (888) 364- 5553 if you wish.

Speaking of events, the professional pro- gram is very strong indeed and I would espe- cially bring your attention to the Spouse Working Lunch featuring BG Rhonda Cornum, Director of Comprehensive Soldier Fitness, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7 who gave such a great presentation last year.

Finally, make sure you stick around for the final Banquet. This year we will bring back Darryl Worley who has been just an out- standing supporter of AAAA, the Army Aviation Soldier and our families. As any of you who saw Darryl at our 50th Anniversary banquet a few years ago will attest, he puts on one heck of a show...easy ladies...

See you at AAAA 2010 in Fort Worth.

Don’t miss it!

Bill Harris Jr.
