NATO at a Crossroads: Today’s Challenges and Tomorrow’s Opportunities

Join a targeted discussion on the evolving NATO-U.S. security relationship with an expert from George Washington University.

As a delegation of BENS members prepare for their visit to Europe, we’re hosting a compelling discussion on the shifting international landscape and transatlantic alliances with Dr. Erwan Lagadec, Associate Research Professor at George Washington University’s (GW) Institute for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies. This event will inform and further shape key topics for our upcoming delegation trip.

Dr. Lagadec, who heads GW’s programs on EU and NATO affairs, will lead this timely conversation on how NATO and the U.S. must adapt to emerging threats and opportunities — between evolving U.S.-Europe relations, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, and China’s increasing influence in Europe, particularly through strategic investments in ports in Greece.

This hybrid event welcomes participants to join the conversation virtually or in person at the BENS office in Washington, D.C. Following the discussion, we will provide a light lunch for in-person attendees.
