The Council on Federal Procurement of Architecture & Engineering Services (
COFPAES), invites you to attend a workshop on "Qualification Based Selection (QBS) Contracting for A/E Services" on Tuesday, May 14 in Washington, DC.
This class, to be taught by Bruce Ware, US Army Corps of Engineers, will provide the elements of the acquisition of firms via the 40 USC 1101/10 USC 2855 and FAR part 36.6 QBS process. This U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-instructed workshop will review the background of the qualifications based selection (QBS) process for procurement of professional services. Topics covered will include the principal requirements of the Brooks Act and similar state laws, and provide details on all phases of implementing a successful contracting process, including acquisition planning, scopes of work, public notification, full and open competition, evaluation and selection, negotiations, contract award, contract management and administration. It will also cover traditional design-bid-build versus design-build.
Who Should Attend?
The workshop is designed for Federal, state and local government personnel responsible for contracting for professional A-E services, including surveying and mapping, as well as private practice professionals and firm personnel involved in marketing, business development, and contract administration.
