2010 IACIS BASIC Conference

Description:

The two week BASIC program provides students with the foundation knowledge necessary to enter the IACIS Certified Computer Forensic Examiner process.  Through a combination of lectures, hands-on practical exercises, and laboratory activities students will learn the underlying principals and skills of computer forensic examination, and learn how to apply these skills in practice.

While previous computer knowledge is a plus, it is not required and there are no prerequisites for the IACIS BASIC training program beyond membership requirements.

90% of what is needed for students to successfully complete the program and the subsequent certification process is provided during the lectures and practical exercises.  Additional outside reading and research may be necessary on certain topics, however; and for those requiring additional hands on training, optional evening computer labs are
available.
