Welcome to The 2013 SBA Washington Metropolitan Area Small Business Awards.

This year three noteworthy people and exceptional teams have earned the 2013 Washington Metropolitan Area Small Business Awards. These awards are presented by the Washington Metropolitan Area District Office of the Small Business Administration each year to recognize those individuals and institutions whose outstanding contributions helped make the D.C. metro area a great place to do business.

This year's awards theme, "Jumpstarting Jobs," recognizes small business owners who have achieved notable success while making a valuable contribution to the community. In addition, awards are given to those who champion the cause of advancing opportunities for others, whether or not they themselves are in business.

Speaker and Presenter Information

Keynote Speaker: Marcus Johnson Marcus Johnson is an independent Billboard-ranked musician, producer, owner of a music label, Three Keys Music, an NAACP Image Award nominee, Business and Educational Speaker and the CEO and Founder of FLO Brands, LLC�. Marcus graduated from Howard University and earned his MBA and Juris Doctorate degrees from Georgetown University. Johnson�s success caught the attention of Black Entertainment Television (BET) founder and businessman, Robert L. Johnson, who invested in Marcus and Marimelj Entertainment Group was formed. Johnson spent several years heading the label and over the next ten years, released 15 critically acclaimed albums.
