6th Annual Defeating IEDs Training Workshops & Technology Exhibition

Many regions in the world will be in persistent conflict for generations and the adaptive IED challenge will remain a potential threat across the full range of Alliance operations. We must contain the spread of IEDs as a global weapon of choice by making them too costly to produce and too risky to employ by Attacking the Network that emplace IEDs, and by training our forces on effective CIED operations.

As the war in Afghanistan winds down U.S. and allied forces will likely face a higher threat from IEDs as international troops begin the process of leaving their bases and pulling out of the country. Such attacks are likely to continue against both international and Afghan forces and are likely to escalate at what is being viewed as a defining time in the handover process.

The domestic IED threat from both homegrown extremists and global threat networks is real, and presents a significant security challenge for allied nations. Securing the borders and protecting Critical infrastructure and key assets from non-conventional attacks, such as suicide attacks with improvised explosive device represents a greater challenge in the era of open borders.

The 6th Annual Defeating IEDs Training workshops will feature highly interactive training workshops conducted by a diverse group of Senior Experts from Military & Industry.
