AFCEA Bethesda's Mobility Technology Symposium

This event qualifies for .4 CEUs

Join AFCEA Bethesda on August 8, 2013 for the Mobility Technology Symposium, a half-day education and training event, which will go beyond the business case for mobility and look at how agencies are developing and implementing emerging mobile technology to deliver the mission.

The demand for mobility is all around us. With lowered budgets and new technologies, the need to do more with less comes at an opportune time. The trends we see today will only increase in the years to come, as mobility is far from hitting its peak. In fact, trend forecasters are predicting that by 2014 mobile phone users will outweigh desktop users.

To deal with the changing environment, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released the Digital Government Strategy in 2012 in hopes to get the government to become more mobile. A little over a year into the Strategy, agencies have made leaping improvements – bring-your-own-device (BYOD) policies, mobile app development platforms, and even security policies and standards to overcome the challenges associated with mobility. How are agencies addressing the consumerization of mobile in government? What cutting edge mobile programs are driving government efficiency in a difficult budget environment?
