The Future of Our Region as a Global Center for Big Data 

As global market forecasts for Big Data technology and services continue to grow, Northern Virginia and the Potomac Region are well positioned to compete for market share and opportunity. Our region is distinguished by our concentration of data analytics businesses and workers, the capacity of our schools in training future data scientists and analysts, our Big Data-related university research initiatives, our historic expertise in managing and interpreting data and the strong presence of the federal government, one of the largest producers and custodians of Big Data in the world. 

During this half-day program, NVTC will release a research report conducted by Chmura Economics & Analytics and sponsored by Attain and George Washington University's Virginia Science and Technology Campus. This report highlights the depth and breadth of Big Data experience, expertise and assets of our region.  The event also will feature two panels of technology industry and academic leaders who will discuss the challenges and opportunities for Big Data technologies, applications and analysis and will explore efforts to grow the talent pool to power the region's Big Data-related businesses.
