Examine how government and industry is adapting to the shifting landscape for cybersecurity

Red Hat and the National Institute of Standard and Technology are co-hosting the third annual Cybersecurity Open Forum – Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity, in Washington, DC. This in-person event will be an opportunity to hear from some of the brightest cybersecurity professionals to hear about the nature of cybersecurity vulnerabilities and strategies to enable protection in open cloud-based environments.

Join the discussion with leaders from the field who are shaping evolutionary approaches to safeguard against current and emerging threats for secure data and commerce in important commercial sectors. Topics will include computing and security measures, practices, and policies and the rising modes of space data applications.

Two themes will be highlighted for this year’s Open Forum:
  • Standards and Interoperability – Standards are essential for defining interfaces and environments to facilitate interoperability, especially in space systems.  Through the collaborative development of standards, space system owners, operators and users find commonality while decreasing unique configurations and traditional barriers in the development effort. This symposium will explore the linkages between standards and interoperability in the system architectures and cybersecurity to support greater efficiencies, promote cost savings, reduce threats, and increase the probability of mission success.
  • Cloud Architectures – Cloud enterprise-level guidance for establishing threshold cybersecurity requires architecture with integrated deterrence principals.  These need to tap into fundamental components, including capabilities and design patterns to address threats that exist both inside and outside traditional network boundaries.  This symposium will examine these components along with automated response actions and advantages that can be enabled in cloud architectures through rapid elasticity and procurement planning at the design and build phase.
