Project Management Using Earned Value Management. This course is designed to give you a basic understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) and its relationship to Project Management. You will learn how to implement EVM and successfully transfer the new knowledge/skills to your job.

 

Agile Development and Earned Value Management for Government Programs. An overview of Agile and EVM fundamentals is presented as well as the benefits of combining these popular disciplines. In addition, we will provide a framework for planning, measuring performance, and forecasting for government programs using Agile and EVM.

 

Each seminar offers a carefully balanced combination of lecture, discussion and exercises in order to create an interactive and rewarding learning environment. Lunch in an upscale restaurant is included as an opportunity to network with other professionals on the course.

 

Speaker and Presenter Information

David M. Scott - Managing Director, KM Systems Group

 

Mr. Scott is a Managing Director at KM Systems Group. He has more than 25 years of experience with both government and commercial customers in the implementation of systems and processes to improve IT management processes. He is regarded for his knowledge of Project Portfolio Management, Capital Planning and Investment Control, Earned Value Management, and Business Process Improvement.

 

Mr. Scott has pioneered strategies and methodologies for applying EVM as a project controls tool for Agile development projects. He is responsible for ensuring that customers achieve significant, measurable results by implementing a performance based measurement system and utilizing the latest enabling software solutions to improve project and earned value management processes. He is also a contributing author of the ACT/IAC white paper on Government Acquisition for Agile Projects.

 

Mr. Scott participates in Government Accountability Office (GAO) expert sessions regarding project scheduling, cost management, and Agile best practices. He also supports several project management associations including PMI, NDIA PMSC; and more broadly ACT/IAC. Education: BBA from Loyola Marymount University.
