CISO Luncheon: Situational Awareness in Today’s Cyber World: How Do We Get There?

Foreground Security Hosts Government CISO Luncheon to Discuss Situational Awareness and Continuous Monitoring for Improved Protection

Top Government Leaders to Discuss Tactics Chief Information Security Officers Can Implement to Protect Against Sophisticated and Targeted Attacks

Foreground Security announced that Jerry Davis, assistant secretary of information security at U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and Tom Schankweiler, chief information security officer (CISO) at the Office of the Secretary for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), will speak at the Government CISO Luncheon, entitled “Situational Awareness in Today’s Cyber World: How Do We Get There?,” on October 14 at the City Club in Washington D.C. Mr. Davis and Mr. Schankweiler will discuss their approach to situational awareness and continuous monitoring and provide insights into the different ways agencies can leverage this information to better protect themselves from sophisticated and targeted attacks.

As government agencies are faced with an increasing number of advanced threats, it is important to understand the critical components of situational awareness in a way that can truly help organizations make better informed decisions. While this can be a valuable aid in addressing advanced threats, many organizations struggle with implementing situational awareness capabilities at a program level. During this three-hour luncheon, co-sponsored by Check Point, attendees will learn best practices for attaining situational awareness and be given the steps required to achieve security readiness. In addition, the speakers will address how to develop a continuous monitoring program with limited budgets and resources.
