ACT-IAC Rocky Mountain Chapter Present DevOps for Government



Join ACT-IAC Rocky Mountain Chapter on November 16th, 2016 for DevOps for Government, a half day seminar focusing on the importance of DevOps and how it is implemented to bring increased efficiencies throughout different types of organizational environments.  The event will consist of keynote presentations from Melissa Tondi, of  Disrupt Consulting, Mark Borowski of IBM, and will be followed up by government panelists participating in discussion regarding their specifics development environments within varying federal bureaus. Participation from the audience will be welcomed as well to develop a deeper level of understanding for both what DevOps is and how it can benefit individual federal and/or industry environments.

Speaker and Presenter Information

Melissa Tondi:

 

Melissa Tondi has spent most of her career working within testing teams- concentrating on functional, performance, security, and mobile testing techniques. In her current roles, she is the founder of Denver Mobile and Quality (DMAQ), Board member for Software Quality Association of Denver (SQAD), and, as Head of SQE at ShopatHome.com, she is assisting teams to continuously improve the design, build, test, and delivery of quality software. Throughout her career in the software test and quality engineering fields she has focused on organizing testing teams around three major tenets—efficiency, innovation, and culture. Melissa’s previous roles have included Vice President of Professional Services for a Mobile-focused startup, Director of Software Quality Engineering at the world’s leading education company; and consultant for health care, finance, and software-as-a-service industries. She is also a frequent speaker on software testing innovations, agile efficiency, and team productivity.

 

Mark Borowski:

 

Mark Borowski is a technical executive and mobile technology leader for IBM’s Hybrid Cloud Division.  Over his 25-year career, Mark has provided enterprise architecture, software development and complex system design expertise to dozens of Fortune 500 companies including GE, Lockheed Martin, Motorola and numerous financial services companies.  Most recently Mark has focused on applying DevOps best practices to Cloud based mobile application development and management.  The consulting group, led by Mr. Borowski, routinely provides guidance to IBM customers on cloud workload migration, micro services transformation, and PaaS-based development.  Mark’s education includes a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and M.S. in Computer Science, both from Drexel University.  He lives in Newtown Square, PA with his wife and two sons.
