When the first lockdown orders in response to the COVID-19 pandemic were issued in March 2020, many agencies at all levels of government had to scramble to accommodate large numbers of their workers suddenly teleworking.
The importance of implementing securing zero-trust security methodology (or architecture)– maintaining strict access controls and not trusting any user automatically, whether inside or outside the network perimeter – became paramount as did the demand for having highly scalable Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) to extend security policies, and enforcement points, out to a remote workforce.
But now, according to a December 2020 report from the Pew Research Center, 54% of workers currently working from home want to continue to telework either full-time or a majority of the time after the pandemic finally ends.
