Pershing, commander of the American Expeditionary Forces in World War I, summarizes why logistics is so important to the military. Today the U.S. military faces even greater logistics challenges, as technology amplifies warfighters’ force execution but adds complications to the vast array of supplies needed to support them.

The modern warfighter must be ready for any scenario. In a rapidly changing world, the frontline could be hostile, covert, or miles from shore. The ability to execute logistics effectively on a global scale will determine mission success. Tools using artificial intelligence and machine learning offer a strategic advantage. By leveraging these capabilities in the cloud, Defense and Intelligence Community partners can make quicker decisions, optimize the supply chain and predict what’s ahead.
