Vision 2023: Transformation, Innovation and Modernization

According to the National Association of State CIOs, the top two enterprise risks faced by state governments in 2022 are cybersecurity and technology. Cybersecurity includes everything from data protection and ransomware to identity theft and stolen network credentials. Technology risks include aging or obsolete systems, data management, and handling cloud portfolios, to name a few.

Addressing these risks is part of modernizing and transforming government services at all levels. The state of California is laying out a path to make progress on the big, complex problems affecting residents. And just as the state is looking to modernize and transform its services, cities and counties are often following its lead – using technology to address their own unique challenges and needs. From cybersecurity to use of As-a-Service, shared services to cloud services, technology officials throughout California are working through the steps to achieve digital transformation as quickly as possible.
