The state of Colorado is undertaking a top-to-bottom modernization of its IT infrastructure, aimed at achieving what the Governor’s Office of Information Technology describes as four "wildly important goals." Four major initiatives (tech transformation, broadband access, digital government services, and enhanced employee engagement) are intended to deliver more and better digital services that improve residents’ lives and increase government employees’ job satisfaction.
Other states are following similar approaches as they seek to modernize their own service delivery. Investing in emerging technologies and eliminating legacy systems are central to these strategies, generating cost savings while improving both accessibility and security.
Join us at this live event in Denver, as thought leaders from different states’ agencies and the contracting community discuss the short- and long-term benefits of transforming the delivery of digital services and the progress that has been made to date.
Learning Objectives:
- Review the “technical debt” the state faces in phasing out legacy systems and the cost savings that can be realized and redirected
- Outline the role of emerging and innovative technologies in providing a human-centered government experience
- Delineate the scope of cybersecurity challenges and ways this strategy will improve the security of customers’ personal information and provide protection and resilience to agencies’ systems
