IRS Virtual Tech Expo

The IRS Virtual Tech Expo is hosted by the IRS Office of Small Business Programs. In addition to the added benefit of vendor presentations, this virtual event accomplishes the same purpose that past in-person events held in the IRS New Carrollton Federal Building (NCFB) did: providing a forum for companies to display and demonstrate the latest products and technologies that provide mission-related solutions for IRS personnel to learn about and demo.

There will be time set aside to visit the Virtual Exhibit Hall to see products and services available to aid in the IRS mission. You can also have a little fun and test your trivia knowledge by answering a question in each booth. Attendees that play will be entered into drawings for $20 Amazon Gift Cards.

Vendors with speaking sessions can be available live during their sessions to answer questions about their presentations from IRS employees. The presentations will be recorded and available for 30 days to registered attendees to review after the live event.

Audience: The IRS New Carrollton Federal Building houses the IT functions for IRS including the Applications Development, Enterprise Operations, Enterprise Services and Management Associate CIO groups. As of 2015, the procurement functions from the IRS Oxon Hill Constellation Centre complex have moved into the New Carrollton Federal Building as well.

IRS Background Information: The IRS employs more than 92,000 people in its Washington, D.C., headquarters and more than 650 offices in all 50 States, U.S. territories, and some U.S. embassies and consulates and relies extensively on computerized systems to support its financial and mission-related operations. As such, it must ensure that its computer systems are effectively secured to protect sensitive financial and taxpayer data. The IRS needs to ensure that it leverages viable technology advances as it modernizes its major systems and improves its overall operational environment.
