For states and localities looking to automate repetitious work, reduce paper-based tasks and streamline processes, artificial intelligence (AI) holds a lot of promise. The National Association of State CIOs (NASCIO) in their recent report on AI and machine learning drew upon a Deloitte assessment that categorized the benefits of automation into four groups: relieve, split up, replace, and augment.

The challenge for state and local agencies is determining the correct application of AI for the benefit they seek, such as relieving employees of burdensome and tedious assignments so they can take on higher-value responsibilities or assigning routine interactions with customers to bots and reserving human agents for more complex customer interactions.

Join us as thought leaders from agencies and contractors discuss the opportunities for AI integration into state and local operations, the benefits they look to accrue, and the risks and obstacles to implementing AI at scale.
