FOSE 2013 Announces Significant Increase in Attendance, Executive-level Participation

Event Drives 115% Growth in Conference Attendance, 5% Increase from Executive, Command and Senior Management

Vienna, Va - FOSE 2013 today announced the final attendance for this year's event, with more than 8,000 government and industry employees attending over three days.  This included a 115% growth in the event's conference program participation - from 941 to over 2,000 - and a 5% increase from Executive, Command and Senior Management.  FOSE 2013 was held May 14-16 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

"Given the current economic environment and sequester, we quite honestly did not know what to expect this year," said Mike Eason, Vice President, Public Sector Events, 1105 Media, Inc.  "By offering government attendees complimentary conference admittance and providing educational opportunities across a number of critical technology areas - all in one location - we helped alleviate some of the budget pressures.  We received excellent feedback on both the quality of education provided and value of topics covered."

FOSE 2013 also witnessed several upward trends in this year's attendee demographics and behavior, including:

  • An 8% increase in attendees from the south Atlantic states, indicating attendees remained local
  • A 13% increase in the amount of time spent in the exhibit hall, showing the added value the event provided
  • A 5% increase in the show's attendee verification rate

"We're excited that even in these times of uncertainty, we were able to host yet another outstanding FOSE, providing the education that the government requires in a budget conscious format," said Eason.  "We look forward to building on this momentum, extending the content opportunities available to government throughout the year, and continuing the expansion for FOSE 2014."

FOSE 2014 will be held May 13-15.  Visit www.fose.com to keep up-to-date on all the details.
