Robert Scoble and Shel Israel to Give Joint Keynote at GEOINT 2013

Co-Authors to discuss location-based technology at GEOINT Symposium

Herndon, Virginia --Technology enthusiasts Robert Scoble and Shel Israel know what it takes to be successful when it comes to emerging technological trends. Scoble and Israel, co-authors of Naked Conversations: How Blogs are Changing the Way Businesses Talk with Customers, will share their knowledge of the tech world in a joint keynote presentation Oct. 14 as part of the GEOINT 2013 Symposium, held October 13-16 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, FL.

The writing team will also introduce their new book, Age of Context: Mobile, Sensors Data & the Future of Privacy, which explores the converging technological advancements that predict what people want before they ask for it. Scoble and Israel will explore how these predictive tools have the potential to change online business, and the complex issues surrounding privacy that will continue to surface as technology becomes more advanced than ever been before. Additionally, USGIF has arranged free copies of the book for the first 2,000 GEOINT Symposium attendees. Scoble and Israel will be available in the USGIF booth to sign these copies.

"We think it's entirely cool that the world's largest gathering of geospatial intelligence professionals want to hear about the Age of Context -where location-based technologies will impact, and are already impacting, so many things," said Scoble.

Scoble is a startup liaison for open cloud computing company Rackspace, and travels the world to discover what is happening on the leading edge of technology. He has interviewed thousands of executives and technology innovators, and reports for Rackspace TV and his personal blog Scobleizer.

Israel is the CEO of SI Associates, as well as a consultant and speaker on issues relating to social media and business communications. He writes the "Social Beat" column for Forbes.com and contributes to many other publications.

Other confirmed keynotes for GEOINT 2013 include the Honorable James R. Clapper Jr., Director of National Intelligence (DNI); Adm. William H. McRaven, U.S. Navy, Commander, U.S. Special Operations Command; Letitia A. Long, Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA); Dr. David Kilcullen, author, CEO, policy advisor, and soldier; and Dr. Parag Khanna, renowned author, geo-strategist, and futurist.
