Cyber practitioners in the federal sector have always needed better ways to collaborate and coordinate and have always been on the lookout for new ways to address challenges. But this year it is especially important. Attacks are up, funds to modernize have been zeroed out, staff has been reduced and now on top of that the shutdown has made things even harder. Meanwhile critical information still needs protecting and adversaries remain as persistent as ever.

This means it is more important than ever to find new ideas to better defend our infrastructure.

With approximately 800,000 government workers furloughed and all federally-run facilities closed, the effect of the United States Federal Government shutdown on the meetings and events industry continues to swell. Not only is the federal government a large buyer of convention space, but many government employees travel for conferences each year.

In its 11th Year, the 2013 Enterprise Architecture Event continues to extend value to attendees by offering a high-caliber, two-day educational program -- free of charge to government employees. This two-day training event features over 14 sessions in two dedicated tracks: EA Practices and Segment Architectures. Government and industry experts will address topics related to the essential role Enterprise Architecture plays in enabling shared services throughout government. The conference will take place October 29-30 - while pre-event workshops will be conducted exclusively on Monday, October 28 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
