30th West Coast Energy Management Congress 2012

Bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders, the West Coast Energy Management Congress and is designed to help business, industrial and institutional energy users navigate the complex maze of facility optimization and sustainability options.

The event is well-timed this year as Oregon and Washington debate whether to cite coal export facilities in their communities. The US has been dubbed the Saudi Arabia of coal, but with coal fired power facing regulatory pressure and fierce competition from decade-low natural gas prices, producers are targeting overseas markets. State and local governments must weigh economic benefits against environmental drawbacks - an issue that will certainly come up at the conference.

Conference presentations will deal with these topics:

  • Green building design and retrofit
  • EPA's online energy measurement and tracking tool for buildings, Portfolio Manager
  • LEED certification and building commissioning
  • High performance facilities
  • The latest developments in renewable energy
  • Reducing carbon emissions
  • Transportation solutions for the future
  • Green/sustainable project success stories
