Throughout the month of March, over 20,000 GovEvents' members, site users and social media followers were asked to cast their vote in naming The BEST Government Events of 2011. Last year, the same community was asked to predict the Most Important Government Events of 2011.

Now the Results Are IN: Some of last year's predictions met or exceeded attendee and exhibitor expectations, and some newcomers made the cut to form The BEST Government Events of 2011, listed in alphabetical order and linked to information about the event in 2012/2013:

• Defending America - Cyberspace 2011 Symposium (NEW!)
• GovSec Expo and Conference
• GSA Training Conference and Expo 2011
• GTRA SecureGOV Council Meeting (NEW!)
• The Federal Senior Management Conference (FedSMC)
• FOSE

Participants of this voting, including government employees, contractors, vendors and event organizers, were given the opportunity to nominate a 2011 government or military event. The polling system allowed one vote per person to safeguard the reliability of results. Last year's predictions were listed at the nomination site for reference.
