A Check-Up on Healthcare Events

Healthcare is a critical topic in the federal market. Like any topic, there are a wide range of events that meet the education and training of the healthcare community. HIMSS is widely recognized as the must-attend event for the healthcare IT community. We've pulled together a number of valuable events happening through the end of this year that span the wide range of topics that impact the federal health community.

  • 10th DoD/VA and Government Health IT Summit (May 2-3; Alexandria, VA) - With a theme of Developing a Connected Health IT Ecosystem for Military and Government, this event provides a unique venue for discussion. Attendance is limited to around 250 participants to allow full and open participation in off-the-record, non-attributable town hall-style discussions. Topics on the agenda include HER modernization, warfighter health, precision medicine, telehealth, and acquisition strategies.
  • VA Healthcare 2016 (May 16-18; Arlington, VA) - This event brings together strategic leaders and experts within the Veterans Affairs to share the best practices that have helped successfully implement new technology upgrades, clinical care advancements, and more precise administrative efficiencies. Topics include mental health, health informatics, technology's impact on the patient experience, traumatic brain injury treatment, and administrative innovations.
  • Pop Health Forum (May 19-20; Boston, MA) -- Focused on population health, this event digs into data and analytics and the impact they have on care coordination and patient engagement. The event includes case studies, thought leadership and best practices from leading healthcare institutions that have worked through some of pop health's toughest challenges.
  • MobiHealthNews Live (June 13; San Francisco, CA) - Produced by HIMSS, this event looks at digital health tactics and technologies and their impact on providers, payers, and the pharma community.  The agenda includes case studies and best practices from leading healthcare institutions, payers and others who have begun to embrace patient-facing technologies to support new care models.
  • Government Health Care Congress (July 12-13; Tysons Corner, VA) - A set of five summits, this event brings together health insurance executives and state and federal officials to discuss the future of Medicaid expansion, the shift to value based reimbursement, access to care, cost savings, and preliminary outcomes from Duals Demonstrations.
  • SANS 4th Annual Healthcare Cybersecurity Summit (November 14-21; Houston, TX) - This event brings technology and healthcare experts together to share proven approaches for securing data and succeeding in the new healthcare environment. The summit focuses on the major challenges organizations face as they balance the security, compliance, and innovation required to thrive in this quickly changing market.
