Both of these documents define the specific roles and responsibilities of data officers and provide a framework for working with and securing data. Of course, each agency has unique requirements and missions, leaving the CDO to work out how to apply this guidance and standards to their organization.
Agencies are meeting these guidelines and integrating CDOs in different ways. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently announced a department-level CDO office to better integrate data into its operations and those of other agencies. The need for this level of coordination was underscored as DHS launched a department-wide COVID-19 vaccination campaign in partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs health centers. DHS needed to identify, contact and manage responses from workers, which meant collecting and reconciling many different datasets from across the department.

The fourth annual Telework Week is just three weeks away, and more agencies are planning to use the event to test their continuity of operations plans.
As of Monday morning, nearly 30,000 workers had pledged to telework during this year's Telework Week, which runs March 3-7. Pledges to the program often surge in the final weeks of February, particularly as federal agencies submit total pledges on behalf of their employees, Cindy Auten, general manager of Mobile Work Exchange, told Wired Workplace on Friday.
KATHMANDU, JAN 06 - The government has been preparing the National Information Technology ( IT ) Road Map, a wide-ranging plan to put the development of the IT sector in high gear. The Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment said it would have a draft plan ready within a week.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the two-day IT Conference being held on the sidelines of CAN Info-Tech on Sunday, Technology Minister Umakant Jha said that the road map would be a base for the development of the IT sector.
